Hi guys! I am so excited the blog and website are finally live! Healthy eating, lifestyle choices and wellness are topics that I am so passionate about.
I hope to use this space to empower others to make healthier choices, but also to understand that no diet is perfect and when we make a choice that might not be as healthy as we want it to be, it’s okay. This brings me to the topic of today: Alcohol. I mention in my About Me section, that I do drink but when I do I try to make it as clean as I can. I’ve learned over the years that beer makes me incredibly stuffed up the next morning and certain wines give me a terrible headache. I try to stay away from sugar filled drinks when I can, I just find that it makes the headache worse!
And it is only one week until Christmas Eve, where has the time gone!?
Christmas is one of the special times of the year where we meet old friends, catch up with people we haven’t seen in a while and generally there are more nights out.
I love catching up with friends and family AND I used to bar-tend so I love mixing different concoctions and keeping my drinks as sugar-free as I can.
Here are some of my favs for the Christmas season:
Ultimate Christmas martini
1 ounce vodka
1 ounce espresso
1/2 ounce Creme de Cacao
Tablespoon of heavy cream
Shake all ingredients and serve.
** Rim your martini glass with lemon and add coconut sugar and cinnamon to make it more festive!
1 ounce vodka
Shake vodka with raspberries and mint and ice, serve and top with sparkling water.
** Add raspberries in you glass to make it more festive!
Christmas day mimosas
Prosecco with a splash of cranberry juice.
** Add pomegranate seeds to make it more festive!
