Happy Monday Everyone! I hope everyone had a great weekend and is ready for the week ahead.
Well I definitely ate too much Thai food and had too many day Heinekens which is why I am starting my day with this detox smoothie. I have been
getting trying to get into the habit of starting my days off with an easy digestible meal. I feel better throughout the day and feel like I have way more energy if I eat something that is easy to digest and fills me up comfortably. I am so not the type of person that can have a piece of fruit for breakfast and call it a day until lunch.
I have to be out the door by 8 so my breakfast has to be quick and simple to make and also portable to bring with me en route. This smoothie is perfecttttt and it contains A LOT of good stuff including: healthy fats, fiber, and protein.
So what is in the smoothie:
Blueberries: Contains FIBRE. Fibre binds to toxins and escorts them OUT of the body.
Spinach: Natural anti inflammatory and keeps your bones STRONG.
Chia Seeds: Loaded with ANTIOXIDANTS, keep you full and contain OMEGA 3 fatty acid.
Almond Butter: HEALTHY FATS to keep you feeling full (and it tastes amazing).
Pea Protein: A protein that is gluten free, soy free, sugar free and a great alternative to typical proteins.
Almond Milk: A nice DAIRY FREE liquid base that contains proteins.
Sprinkle of hazelnuts: Also contains healthy fats and adds a nice flavour.
Cinnamon: Also adds really nice flavour, controls blood sugar levels, and is a powerful antioxidant.
What you need:
1 cup almond milk
Handful of spinach
Handful of blueberries
1 scoop of pea protein powder (I use this brand)
Tablespoon of chia seeds
Tablespoon of almond butter
Optional – hazelnuts
What to do:
Blend all ingredients.
