One of my resolutions this year is to DRINK MORE WATER and DRINK LESS COFFEE. Going for coffee is one of my favourite things to do and I also think it’s fun to try different coffee shops and different coffee while travelling so I probably wouldn’t cut it completely, just cut down.
I have always been a coffee drinker and I don’t think 1-2 cups of coffee is necessarily a bad thing. I think that anymore than 3 cups can probably become a bit more problematic. I found myself drinking a lot more coffee over Christmas and my skin became really, really dehydrated and appeared really dry. I also found myself feeling a bit more lethargic and that could have been from the extra caffeine going into my system.
In a nutshell article found here, there are many differing studies, opinions and research done on coffee and the effects of caffeine. For instance caffeine can keep you up at night (but how much?), caffeine could cut post workout pain, and in recent studies, they have found that coffee is good for your liver, may lower the risk of heart attacks and might cut the risk of colon cancer.
There is a lot of differing research on the effects of caffeine on your body so I suppose for me with most things I see how something affects my system and my body. I feel fine when I drink 2 cups of coffee and not so great when I drink over 3.
SO insert fruit infused flavoured waters for an extra boost of vitamins!! I really find that this helps me to drink more water. It tastes so fresh and really hydrates me throughout the day. In the morning I try and drink warm water or warm water with lemon to kick start my digestion system, clear toxins out and warm my body up after sleeping.
